Antsokia ("Antsokia", "we", "us", or "our") is an online Sunday school and spiritual learning platform developed by Temro Mastemar. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from students, teachers, and other users of the Antsokia website and mobile app (together, the "Platform"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you give us

Account information: full name, phone number and/or email address, password, and role (student, teacher, organization).
Profile information: profile photo, bio, and preferences such as your chosen language (English or Amharic).
Course activity: the courses and learning paths you enroll in, lesson progress, quiz answers and scores, notes you take, and certificates you earn.
Community content: questions and answers you post in course Q&A threads, likes, @mentions, course reviews and ratings, and messages you send through the Platform.
Payment information: if you enroll in a paid course, our payment processor collects the information needed to complete the transaction. Antsokia does not store your full card or mobile-money credentials on its own servers.
Support requests: anything you submit through the Contact Us form, including your name, email, and message.

1.2 Information collected automatically

Device and usage information, such as app version, general device type, and how you interact with courses (for example, which lessons you complete).
Notifications and delivery logs, including SMS delivery status where SMS notifications are enabled.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account and let you sign in on the web and mobile app.
To deliver course content, track your progress, grade quizzes, and issue certificates.
To power the Q&A discussions, notifications, and @mention alerts between students and teachers.
To process enrollment payments for paid courses and organization billing.
To send you service messages (for example, assignment reminders, announcements from your teacher, and reply notifications) by email, in-app notification, or SMS.
To respond to support requests submitted through the Contact Us page.
To keep the Platform secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
To improve the Platform, including which courses and features are most useful to students.

3. Children's Privacy

Antsokia is a Sunday school platform and welcomes learners of many ages, including children studying under the guidance of a parent, guardian, or church community. Where a student is a minor, we expect a parent, guardian, or teacher to assist with account creation and to supervise use of the Platform. We collect only the information described above and do not knowingly use children's information for advertising. A parent or guardian who believes their child's account was created without appropriate supervision may contact us using the details in Section 9 to review, update, or delete the account.

4. How We Share Information

Teachers and organizations: a teacher can see the progress, quiz results, notes tied to their course, and Q&A posts of students enrolled in their course. An organization administrator can see information about learners enrolled through that organization.
Other students: your display name and content are visible to others when you post in a course's Q&A thread or leave a public course review.
Service providers: we use trusted providers to run the Platform, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), a payment processor for paid enrollments, and an SMS/email provider for notifications. These providers only receive the information needed to perform their service.
Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Antsokia, its users, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure, access-controlled infrastructure. We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections and role-based access controls to protect your account and content. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login details private.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You can review and update your profile information at any time from Profile Settings in your dashboard.
You can choose your preferred language (English or Amharic) from the Platform's language switcher.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by contacting us using the details in Section 9.
You can opt out of non-essential notifications from your notification settings; some service messages related to your enrollments cannot be turned off while your account is active.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Antsokia website uses cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.

8. Data Retention

We keep your account and course data for as long as your account is active, so that your learning history, notes, and certificates remain available to you. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we are required to keep certain records (for example, payment records) for legal or accounting purposes.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Platform grows. When we make material changes, we will update the "published" date on this page. Continued use of the Platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
