Student Portal Usage Guide

This guide walks you through the Antsokia student portal, from creating your account to earning your first certificate. It applies to both the Antsokia website and the Antsokia mobile app — the two look slightly different, but the features are the same.

1. Creating an Account and Signing In

  • On the website, select Register from the top menu; in the app, tap Create Account on the welcome screen.
  • Sign up with your phone number or email address and choose a password. If you are a younger student, ask a parent, guardian, or your Sunday school teacher to help you register.
  • Once registered, sign in any time from the Login page or screen using the same details.
  • Forgot your password? Use Forgot Password on the login page to reset it.

2. Switching Language

Antsokia is available in English and Amharic. Look for the language switcher in the site header (web) or in the app's settings/menu, and choose English or አማርኛ. Your choice is remembered the next time you sign in.

3. Your Dashboard

After signing in, you land on your learner dashboard. From here you can reach:

  • Overview — a summary of your enrolled courses, progress, and recent activity.
  • My Courses — every course you are enrolled in, with a "Continue Learning" shortcut back to where you left off.
  • Learning Paths — structured sequences of courses that guide you through a subject step by step.
  • Quizzes — the quizzes you have taken and their results.
  • Notes — personal notes you have saved while studying.
  • Q&A — questions and discussions from your courses.
  • Calendar — deadlines and scheduled sessions.
  • Announcements — updates posted by your teachers or the platform.
  • Messages — direct messages between you and your teachers.
  • Reviews — ratings and reviews you have left on courses.
  • Wishlist — courses you have saved to take later.
  • Profile — your account and profile settings.

4. Finding and Enrolling in a Course

  • Browse the course catalog from the public site or the "Courses" section of the app — no account is required to look around.
  • Open a course to see its description, syllabus (modules and lessons), teacher, level, and whether it is free or paid.
  • Select Enroll to join a free course instantly, or to be guided through payment for a paid course.
  • Not ready yet? Add the course to your Wishlist instead so you can find it again later.

5. Taking a Course

  • Open a course from My Courses to see its modules and lessons.
  • Lessons can be videos, readings, or other materials. Work through them in order — your progress is saved automatically as you go.
  • Some courses include a free preview lesson you can try before enrolling.
  • Use Notes to jot down thoughts while you study; your notes are saved to your account and organized by course.

6. Quizzes and Certificates

  • Many lessons or modules end with a quiz. Answer the questions and submit to see your result.
  • You can review past quiz attempts from the Quizzes section of your dashboard.
  • Once you complete all the requirements of a course or learning path, a certificate is issued to your account. Certificates can be shared or verified using the certificate verification page on the Antsokia website.

7. Asking Questions (Q&A)

  • Inside a course, open the Q&A tab to ask your teacher or fellow students a question about the material.
  • You can reply to existing questions, like helpful answers, and mention another user with @name to bring a discussion to their attention.
  • You will get a notification when someone replies to your question or mentions you.
  • Please keep questions and answers respectful and on topic — see the Terms of Service for community guidelines.

8. Calendar, Announcements, and Messages

  • Check Calendar for upcoming deadlines or scheduled sessions for your courses.
  • Check Announcements for updates your teacher or Antsokia posts about a course or the platform.
  • Use Messages to contact a teacher directly if you need one-on-one help.

9. Reviews and Wishlist

  • After finishing a course, you can leave a rating and a written review from the course page to help other students choose.
  • Use the heart or "Save" icon on any course to add it to your Wishlist for later.

10. Notifications

Antsokia sends notifications inside the app, by email, and sometimes by SMS for things like Q&A replies, new announcements, and assignment reminders. You can review and adjust which notifications you receive from your Profile settings.

11. Managing Your Profile

From Profile, you can update your name and photo, change your password, set your preferred language, and manage notification preferences.
